GREGORY KAPLAN IS NOW KAPLAN & FRANK

Richmond Virginia—May 1, 2011—Gregory Kaplan, PLC, the Richmond, Virginia headquartered law firm, announced that effective May 1, 2011, it is changing its name to Kaplan & Frank, PLC.

The change of name permits the Firm to give greater prominence to its growing practice in the Washington, DC and Northern Virginia region, as well as to highlight its commercial litigation practice, which is headed by Grady Frank, who, contemporaneously with the change of name, has become a member of the Firm.

Rob Kaplan, the Managing Partner, commented, “Since he joined us late last year, Grady has made enormous strides in firmly establishing the Firm in the DC and Northern Virginia markets, so we are only too happy to welcome him as a member of the Firm. I am confident that our new name will indicate to both our clients and our colleagues at the Bar the importance of Grady’s contributions, particularly as the leader of our commercial litigation practice.”

In addition, the Firm announced that Richard Gregory has become Of Counsel to the Firm in order to allow him to spend substantially all of his time pursuing outside business interests. Kaplan also remarked, “While we regret that the demands of his business interests have compelled Rick to reduce his involvement with the Firm, I am very pleased that Rick, who co-founded the Firm with me, will remain a valued colleague in his new role as Of Counsel to the Firm. Culturally, we have always afforded our lawyers the opportunity to pursue outside interests, and it is gratifying to know that Rick’s endeavors have been, and will continue to be, rewarding for him.”
