Rajiv’s practice focuses primarily on securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, ongoing securities law compliance, and other corporate matters. Rajiv has specialized experience in the alternative investments industry and has advised broker-dealers in connection with due diligence on a variety of funds including Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), Business Development Companies (BDCs), and Delaware Statutory Trust 1031 Exchange offerings, among others.
Before joining the firm, Rajiv was in-house counsel and client-facing associate at a due diligence and investigations firm in the Washington D.C.-area and specialized in advising hedge fund and private equity clients on a broad range of domestic and international matters including corporate investigations, M&A due diligence, and other pre-transactional risk and compliance issues. Previously, Rajiv worked for a firm advising registered broker-dealers in connection with their due diligence of public and private securities offerings, with a concentration on non-exchange traded REITs and BDCs, as well as closed-end interval funds registered under the 1940 Act. He also has experience in compliance at a Big 4 professional services firm and product development at a real estate private equity firm. Prior to law school, Rajiv worked in commercial banking and credit analysis for regional and national financial institutions.
Rajiv was an active member of the Association of Corporate Counsel Baltimore Chapter and Maryland Volunteer Law Society. In his spare time Rajiv enjoys running, golfing, and training Muay Thai.
