Melanie transitioned to private practice from in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 company. She has extensive experience in multi-million-dollar commercial real estate transactions that include entity and individual buyers and sellers of various property classifications such as office, mixed-use, retail, multi-family, and agricultural. From these transactions, she also gained experience with financing requirements of lenders including Fannie Mae, HUD, and USDA.
Melanie has worked with clients across the country, some of whom targeted underdeveloped yet emerging communities. In her capacity, she spent a considerable amount of time ameliorating existing and potential title defects. As a result of her exposure to highly complex transactions, she understands a firm grasp of the law and clients’ objectives are essential to obtain optimal success.
Beyond real estate, Melanie possesses meaningful experience with entity formation and dissolution, probate administration, and estate planning from her time practicing law in Kentucky, where she first began the practice of law.
A Richmond native, Melanie returned to the area with her husband, child, and fur-child. In her free time, Melanie enjoys volunteering locally, running, and exploring their new city together.
