Charlie Alvis advises individuals and families on wealth management and estate planning, including income and transfer tax planning as well as trust and estate administration. He also assists clients with real estate transactions including donations of conservation easements.

Charlie also has experience in the real estate space, helping clients with acquisitions and sales, financings, and leasing of commercial property. He routinely advises on land use and zoning regulations and has appeared before government boards of Virginia localities to obtain land use permits for regional and national businesses.

He serves on the board of a private multifamily office.

Before joining Williams Mullen, Charlie practiced at a national law firm in Washington, D.C., where he focused on federal regulatory matters involving national security, economic sanctions and international trade. During law school, Charlie was a lead articles editor of the William & Mary Law Review, and he served as a judicial intern for Judge Sue L. Robinson of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
