Through the active engagement and leadership of our attorneys and staff, coupled with financial support from The Williams Mullen Foundation, our firm supports over 200 charitable organizations each year. This support includes board leadership, monetary donations, fund-raising and volunteer hours. We encourage attorneys and staff to seek leadership positions on boards and committees of non-profit organizations, arts foundations, legal aid societies, colleges and universities. The Williams Mullen Foundation provides additional financial support to these organizations.
Last fiscal year, the foundation alone provided more than $300,000 in donations to support 140 charitable organizations, including the American Red Cross, the Boy Scouts Of America, the Children's Hospital Foundation, the Leukemia And Lymphoma Society and the March Of Dimes, and several North Carolina and Virginia higher education institutions, museums and community groups. The foundation also awarded scholarships to nine individuals, all Williams Mullen employees or the children or grandchildren of Williams Mullen employees, through the Dobbins Clark Eicher Neely Nusbaum Scholarships. While some of our community service initiatives are localized, many of our projects are larger in scope, such as our annual firm-wide United Way campaign or our participation in Virginia’s Legal Food Frenzy benefitting the state’s food banks.
